Bar de Espagna risa risa

In Spanish “risa” means “laugh”. The shop’s name “risa risa” comes from a wish for the place to be filled with laughter of two rather than one. One day in the restaurant which he used to work for, keeping the hands still for a moment and looking around the shop, he found everyone smiling and it brought him indescribable happiness to be part of them. That is his landscape of the heart.

In August 2013, he opened the shop in Hannancho, Abeno district at the age of mere 24. His authentic Spanish cuisine and coziness have been gained popularity of local people. In July 2018, in order to expand the scale, the shop moved to the current location stood in line with his favorite old houses and a shopping street.

The new shop, based around the color red, black and gold, was made by himself utilizing old wooden materials. Positioning the shop as the “third place” following home as first and workplace as second, he explains, “I hope everyone feels free to visit the shop  as a part of their life.”

He has recently started a new activity to go to harvest vegetables inviting local people so as to make a connection with producers and locals touching the soil. risa risa will become attracted to more and more people not only as a dining facility but also a community space to build a network of connections and challenge something exciting.
